Three Months!

I can't believe we have had our little babies for three months now! They are growing and changing so much so quickly! It's such a bitter sweet time! I love seeing them grow and change but at the same time I hate to see them grow up and not be my tiny little babies! We have been loving this experience! And it has been an experience!

Cameron:
He is such a fun baby! He has always been our alert kiddo. The last couple weeks though he has really taken off! He is wide awake all the time, he barley naps these days. He is happy though when he is awake, just looking and taking everything in. He smiled for the first time two weeks ago and has not stopped since. He is starting to coo and talk - and just grins all the time. The only time he is cranky is when he is hungry. He goes from sleeping to screaming in seconds! And every once in a while he just gets very upset and screams for quite a while. But those times are few and far between. He is up to about ten pounds now and eating 3 1/2 ounces every 3 hours. He is still spits up pretty bad! He has episodes about once a day where it comes out his nose and he's choking and panicking and not breathing. Very scary! So hopefully he outgrows that soon! He is sleeping about 5 hours a night now which is wonderful. We are having so much fun with our happy little boy! I think he is going to be the clown of the family!

Blake:
Blake is such a serious little boy! He just sits and studies you with his big brown eyes. He is such a little - big - cutie! It is hard to describe Blake, I think he is going to be a very sweet boy! He could sit for hours and just stare at you and take in everything around him, all without ever blinking! :) He did start smiling for the first time on Friday! I think he likes it cause he's starting to give them out pretty freely! I love it! Today he starting a little cooing and talking also. He is a big boy! I think he is going to be a pretty stalky guy! He is weighing around 11 lbs and eating about 5 oz! We had to break out the big bottles for him. Thankfully, Blake doesn't spit up like the other two! But when he does every great while he let's you know! It makes him SO mad when he spits up at all, it's kinda cute! :) Blake also loves to cuddle! He hangs on tight whenever you pick him up. I hope that sticks around! Blake brings so much joy to us, I am so thankful for him!

Madison:
She is a sweetheart! She is starting to be more alert these days too! She stays awake and happy for quite a while. She sits and looks around with the most beautiful big roiund blue eyes! So pretty! She has started to give us a few smiles-although they are still rare. When we get them they are so sweet! She is staying fairly petite at about 8 lbs but still eats as much as the boys! She does have the scary spitting up episodes like Cam so hopefully they both grow out of those soon! She is also sleeping about 5 hour syretches through the night. It's so fun to have her! It's been fun to have a little girl around - we just love her to death!

They are growing up so fast! But we are so thankful the Lord has blessed us with these precious children. I am amazed at how special and wonderful they are and that they are mine! WOW! It's so easy to get caught up in the business and how tired I am and forget to just cherish each moment. But that is a good leesson to learn in most areas of our life!

Pictures to come! Right now I get to go to church so I better scoot!

Merry Christmas!

What a special day! We are so blessed!! Our Christmas was quite different for us this year - but wonderful all the same! I did miss the family get togethers and annual traditions, but it was so special to celebrate with my hubby and three babies! Who knew that is what would be this Christmas!?!?

We were still able to have the family over. My family came over a couple weeks ago for yummy party snacks and Christmas movies! We had such a fun time! However, Jason had to work an eight day work week and I was absolutely exhausted from from taking care of the babies. So - the party went on without the host and hostess! :) Jason went to bed really early and I followed about an hour later! The rest of the family stayed up and partied! And when I got - the house was all cleaned! You can't beat that! I was sad to go to bed but I couldn't stay up much longer. It's so wonderful to have such and understanding and helpful family. It was a fun memorable night anyway - we will always look back and remember what it was like that first wonderful Christmas with triplets! :)

Christmas Eve was nice a restfull for us. We wrapped a few presents, put on our Christmas Eve jammies, fed babies, watched Fred Claus and had macaroni and cheese for dinner! What a feast! It was a great day, one to be remembered!

Christmas Day was a very busy day! Aunt Boo stayed the night and spent the morning with us. Brian, Sheila and Brogan came over to help with a morning feeding and have breaksfast with us. My family all came on their way to the big Martindale shin dig in Boise and spent some time with the us and the McKinneys came bearing gifts in the afternoon! The rest of the day we spent together opening presents and enjoying our time together!

Winter Wonderland!

The presents are almost wrapped, and everything is ready to go. All this wonderful snow has just put the finishing touches on everything! I LOVE the snow! I think I am still a kid when it comes to the snow! :) At last count, I think we had a couple feet out at our house. I keep wanting to take the kids out to play in it - but we are waiting until next year! We do a lot of looking out the window though.

Now it's time to just relax and enjoy the day and all the snow! Although, Jason just had surgery on his wrist Monday so that may not be happening! :) Poor guy is not feeling very good! But he really needed it done and since we exceeded our deductable on the insurance :) we thought he better do it! Hope everyone has a very nice Christmas eve.

Thanks Aunt Katie!

Aunt Katie made this adorable dress for Madison! She looked so cute it in! The dress fit great but note the too big tights on the little girl! :) But we had to finish off the outfit and I didn't want her to get too cold - so she wore the big tights! Aunt Katie also made shirts for the boys that I think will finally fit them so we will get pictures soon!

And.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE! We hope you have a wonderful day!

Wedding Bells!!!

It's official! Kristen is getting MARRIED!!! We are all so excited for her! She has been dating this great guy Sage and he just popped the question. He took her out where they like to go shooting together and hid her ring in the gun case. She thought she was getting a new gun for Christmas but instead there was a ring inside!! (Which I helped in the scheming of getting that ring for her! Too fun!!! :) ) They are going to tie the knot March 28th, 2009! I get to be the maid-of-honor which am SO excited about! Kristen has waited a long time for this and God has brought a wonderful man to take care of her and love her forever!

CONGRATULATIONS KRISTEN AND SAGE!
We love you!

Cute Pictures!

A little of this, a little of that

It's time to play catch up again! I don't know where the time goes to! Well, actually I do - three little babies. I used to wonder if when I was a stay at hom mom if I would get bored....

Friday Jason and I got to go out to his Christmas Party for work. That was fun to get out and spend some time together. The food was very yummy too!! Prime rib dinner, you can't beat that!

Saturday I got to go to a Christmas Tea with my Mom, sister and all my cousins and aunts. Aunt Celeste decorated a table in memory of my Grandma and used all her Christmas decorations for the table. It turned out so nice! It's the start of a new tradition. After the tea we went and walked around the mall like we usally did with Grandma. That was fun, although the mall was very busy! It's that time of year I guess. I was able to get some Christmas shopping out of the way and I found some really good deals! I LOVE finding good sales! Jason stayed home ALL day with the babies so I could go and have some fun. He's such an amazing guy!

The babies got stuffy noses last week. We were really worried that it was going to turn into a cold or worse but it didn't! Praise the Lord!! They are doing much better now! They are getting SO big! I don't know what I am going to do with them! I miss those tiny little 3 pounders! But this stage is fun too! They are getting so much more alert and acting like babies. Since they were preemies it has taken them a while to get to the point where they are starting to interact with you. I got my first real smile out of Cameron today! That was So fun! Of course, he won't do it very often only when he feels like it. :) Madison is our sensitive little girl! She has such sensitive skin! She get's the worst diaper rashes and now has something called sebia (sp???) on her face. It's just a skin irritation but looks terrible. Her face is all red and bumpy and her eye was swollen! We got some medicine for it and it is looking much better! Blake is just truckin along and getting big!! He's about 9 1/2 pounds now and growing! He's such a quite little guy!!

We are looking forward to Christmas with these babies! The house is all decorated and hopefully this week we will do some baking! :) Saturday we have our first family pictures. I am very excited for that!

I am thankful for:

My Savior:

Who is always faithful to me, even when I am not! He's always there waiting for me, teaching me and showing me how I should live. Is always there giving us the strength to do what we need. He saved me from a sinful life and now helps me to live a life pleasing to him. He LOVES me! He has blessed my life abundantly!

An Amazing Husband:

Who loves me unconditionally! He is always there for me! He works SO hard to provide for our family! He is always taking care of me. He puts the kids and me first. He loves the Lord and is a strong leader. He is an AMAZING Dad! He changes diapers and feeds and loves those babies!

Cameron, Blake and Madison:

Our three miracles! They bring so much joy to our lifes! I can't wait for the years to come to see their little personalities and to see what they will become.

Our Family:

What a wonderful support they have been! They spend the night, bring meals, check in on our sanity. They love us! We have had so much support this year from them. They have been amazing, I can't imagine life without them!

Our Friends:

What a blessing good friends are. We have been blessed with such special people in our life. They are always there to lend a hand or a listening ear. What special people they are!

A Wonderful Church and Church Family:

How wonderful to have such special church family. Not everyone is so blessed to have such a supportive and loving church! They have supported and loved us more than I can tell you!

Life in a Free Country:

What a blessing to live in a country where we can worship our Lord freely! We can raise our children as we see fit. We are so blessed to be free - how often do we take that for granted?

Big Night Out

We left the kiddos with their Grandma for the first time last night. Jason and I got to get out and go to dinner at Brewsky's. It was a fun dinner and so nice just to have some time with my wonderful hubby!
We were celebrating his completion of his apprenticeship program. He has worked SO hard over the last five years to become a Journeyman Lineman. It's a pretty big deal for him and we are so proud of him! He works so hard at his job for his family! He's such an amazing Husband and Dad! Congratulations Babe, we love you!!!

Fun Pics

We had some fun the other day with pictures! We had to get some of the cousins together. Brogan is really a pretty small guy but compared to our little ones he looks pretty big!

Sheila saw the idea to buy 12 month size onsies and take a picture of them wearing them on each new month. So this is the first months picture. I thought it was a pretty fun idea!

Growing...

TOO FAST!! These kiddos are getting big way too fast! I don't know where the time goes. Although at night I don't think it is going very fast... :) We had a check up yesterday for them and they are doing super. Dr. John is SO impressed with how they are doing. That is so nice to hear! They have "graduated" from needing to be seen a lot because they are preemies to just going in for their wellness checks every two months. God has sure had a hand in with the health of these babies.

Weights:
Blake - 7lbs 1oz (WOW) He started out at 3lbs 15oz
Cameron - 6lbs 3oz He started out at 3lbs 6oz
Madison - 5lbs 15oz She started out at 3lbs 1/2oz

The boys were circumcised yesterday. That was the saddest day of my life (the boys didn't like it either ) They screamed and cried SO hard it was all I could do to not cry. The tears were just running down their little faces! So sad! And they strap them down like they are in a torture chamber (they probably thought they were). But Dr. John is such an amazing pediatrician! I am so glad we were able to get in to him! It's so fun too cause he was my pediatrician as a kid! He's great and takes such great care of the kiddos.

Shoes Anyone???

It's a bitter sweet memory - my Grandma LOVED her shoes! My Dad and Aunt had to start going through Grandmas things last week. They got to her shoe closet and decided we could probably open a shoe store! There are boots and tennis shoes and dress shoes and stelletos...... There are keds, BCBG, Liz Claiborn, shoes made in Spain! She was a shoe lady! She passed that love on to me! Just a fun memory of Grandma!
(These aren't all her shoes either - there was still a closet full and some had been given away!:))

Playing Catch Up

Wow, time sure flies when you are having fun (and taking care of three babies! :)) It has been a lot of work but so fun too! What sweet wonderful babies! We love them SO much. They have been so fun to have around. They are almost seven weeks old already. I can't believe it, it seems like they just got here. Here's a little info on all of them....

Cameron:
He is our easy baby! If he were the only baby we had we would have an easy life! For the most part he at night he wakes up (barely) then goes right to sleep until the next feeding. Sleeps like a champ! When he is awake he is almost always happy. At night they all have a fussy time but most of the time he is just happy and alert. He is so fun, he looks around and smiles all the time. His eyes are usally open very wide! He is probably over five pounds now and growing out of his preemie clothes! (That makes mom want to cry!) He is consistantly eating about two ounces every three to four hours. He is a joy and I am SO in love with him!!

Blake:
Blake is totally going to be laid back - for the most part. He definatly can get pretty upset with us. :) He is a very serious baby. We don't get too many smiles out of him, he will just sit there and stare you down. He could win any staring contest without cracking a smile. When he does smile he it is so fun - WAY cute! Most of the time his lips are pursed in what we call the fish face. :) He likes to be awake and fussy pretty much all night but sleeps like a champ during the day! (We are working on switching that!) He also has a fussy time at night - they plan it together. He is over six pounds now and is for the most part in newborn clothes and diapers. (That REALLY made mom cry). He is also eating about two ounces every three to four hours. He brings so much happiness we are so blessed to have him and love that little guy to death!
Madison:
Madi is a bit high maintenance! :) She is a little spit fire with a bit of an additude! After describing her to my Dad he said that we had a Tasha junior! (Uh oh!) She is starting to be very alert also and starting to smile a lot more! That has been a lot of fun - she is a sweetheart! She doesn't like to sleep much at night either although she has been getting better the last few nights. YEAH!! She is still in most of her preemie clothes, just growing out of the really small ones. She is still our small little girl. She has probably made it up to about five pounds as well. That is so big compared to her 2lbs 14oz she was after she was born! It's so much fun to have a little girl!! We love her so much!

I think that's it! We have been staying very busy feeding every three hours. It takes about an hour to feed and change all three (with two people). So that takes up most of our time. It's such a special time though! We have been having help at night which makes the day time go a little easier. Sleep makes all the difference!

We have had both great grandpas come for a visit which was very special!! They were both very taken with the little kiddos! I have to agree, they are pretty great!

Good News!!!

Grandma (Valerie) has a clean bill of health and finally gets to come and see her grandbabies!! We are all very excited!

RSV Explanation

I found some info and pics of the RSV that we are so worried about our babies getting this winter. It helps explains why we have to be so careful of who comes over and so strict with the ages that are allowed. It's a pretty scary infection for any baby but especially for premies! I didn't even realize quite how yucky it is, the pictures say a lot too!

Because our babies are preemies their lungs are still underdeveloped & they have a compromised immune system. This is very important to know b/c RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) which to us or a full-term baby, would not do anything more than just give us a cough & a runny nose, much like the common cold. For our babies, it can mean death.

Why? Our babies lungs look very different from that of a baby the same age that was born after 37 weeks gestation. Let me show you a picture of what our babies' lungs look like compared to that of a regular full-term baby. The 1st 3 pictures are that of our babies' lungs (not actual idea). The 4th picture is that of a regular baby. Scary to see how much less our babies have compared to them!

This is another good picture to look at. As you can see, they used trees to explain the difference between a normal infant's lungs (left) & a preemie's (right). WOW!

Once RSV has been passed to one of our babies, hospital stay is a certainty. Actually, they would probably end up in the PICU (Pediatric ICU). There is NOTHING they can do to help our babies except to give them O2 to help them breathe. Again, something we don't want to experience. How do we keep our babies healthy? By staying away from sick people! RSV is contracted through physical contact or vapor droplets in the air.
