Life with three....

I was wondering if I was ever going to post again! It is crazy in the world of triplets!! But it is also wonderful!! They are such a joy and a blessing.

Biggest most exciting thing that happened is Blake came home! YEA :) We brought him home on Tuesday afternoon and he is doing great!! We still have to be really careful when we feed him cause he still chokes a lot and then has trouble breathing, which is wat scary!!! His wonderful Dad has got a really good feel for his feeding though and they make a good team together.

We also took Cam and Madi to their first checkup and Tuesday and they got glowing reports. Cam is up to 4lbs 14oz and Madi is up to 4lbs 12oz. They are getting so big compared to where they were when they were born! But they are healthy and doing great the doc says!

Our lives around here are crazy! Sleep is a very rare thing these days! Feeding, burping and changing three babies takes a lot of time. Go figure! :) They are eating every three hours usally which keeps us hopping! I don't know what I will do when Jason goes back to work!! But we have started to get some help at night and throughout the day at different feedings. The night help is WONDERFUL! (Grace, you saved us the other night!!) We still help with the feedings but we get to sleep in between knowing someone is listening for the babies or taking care of them if they fuss. It is still so unreal to me that we have three babies, they are ours to keep and love and raise forever. WOW! God is so good! What a wonderful blessing for us to have these kids. There have been a lot of times in the short time we have had them that I wondered if I would make it. But then I remember (or Jason reminds me!) that God gave us these children and the grace and strength to do what needs to be done! Plus, then they smile at you or do something way cute and I think I could go without sleep for the rest of me life just to have them! :)

A little shout out to my husband, he has been AMAZING! He is a wonderful Daddy! He is a natural and takes care of and loves on these kids like he's done it for years! Plus he still takes care of me and makes sure I am doing good and getting rest. (Even though he is not getting rest himself) He watched the kids by himself on Monday for like 8 hours while I was at the funeral and visiting Blake in the hospital. 8 hours and two babies and one new daddy! That is pretty impressive! He is a wonderful guy and I am so glad he is the Dad to our babies and a husband to me!

Grandmas funeral was on Monday. That was such a hard day, but it was good too. She was such a loved lady and left such a legacy behind! Every chair in the church was filled with someone there to remember her! The service was nice too! Lots of wonderful words and memories and a sweet slide show. Grandpa is doing pretty well, but seems very lost right now! He loves to hear about the babies and that seems to cheer him up! We just have to keep praying for him, his heart is definately softer!

It's Official

Cameron and Madison are coming home today! WOW, this is the start to an amazing journey. Please pray for us as we figure this out! Blake should be joining the family the first of next week! He just has a little more practicing to do. And he lost a little weight and they won't send them home until they are consistantly gaining. It's pretty normal for them to lose a little when they first start taking their bottles cause it burns so many calories. (Wouldn't it be nice if it worked that way for adults?) But he is doing good! The dr said they all have colds from being in the hospital germs so please pray for that as well.

We will keep you posted......

We will miss you Grandma!

Grandma passed away last night. Her body just couldn't do it anymore. But praise the Lord that she knew him and is now pain free and with her savior! We are going to miss her so much! What an amazing woman she was! She was such a strong successful lady. She could do anything! She had quite a stuborn streak too, I think she passed that on to me! And how she loved to shop (that was definatley passed on to me!) She could shop all day with the best of them. It was something she would take us to do often. She always spoiled us when she took us too which is fun. Every November for as long as I can remember she would take all six grandaughters and all our moms shopping for the day to pick out our Christmas presents. We always started with breakfast at Elmers then would head to the mall for hours of shopping. We would always stop for lunch and then do some more shopping. A lot of times we did dinner too. It was something we all looked forward to every year. Last year we almost didn't do it but it caused such an uproar we still went.

She was an AWESOME cook too! She could cook anything and always without a recipe. She has made our Christmas dinners since I can remember too. Every year it's quite the feast! Prime rib, mashed potatoes, fancy veggies......there is always lots of appetizers too. Her and Grandpa started to tradition years ago that after dinner we go around and say what we are thankful for and what happended over the year since the last Christmas. That was always special. Then they had us play Bingo. They had about six envelopes with anywhere from $5 to $100 dollars in it. Whoever gets a Bingo gets to pick an envelope. Then it's present time and Grandma was always the one to pass out presents to everyone. She (and Grandpa) have worked SO hard over the years to make sure our family had wonderful traditions. They have made a family that is so close and best friends.

I love you Grandma! Thanks for all you did for our family!

It's getting close!

It looks like we get to bring a couple little babies home! YEA!!! We are so excited for this part of the journey to be coming to an end.

Cameron and Madison are going to get to come home in the next few days. Madison should be coming on Thursday and Cameron should be following her over the weekend. Blake is still struggling with eating and breathing at the same time. He still does not eat all his feedings from a bottle, they still have to give him some through the feeding tube. He is coming along though, just working at his own pace. It makes me so sad to leave him behind but we will visit and love on him as much as possible. They are all doing wonderful though! Their care has been turned over to the pediatrician that I chose. They no longer need the high risk specialists from the NICU. God has blessed us and these babies so much! They are an amazing blessing in our lives.

Saying Goodbye

Please pray for our family today! It looks like Grandma has taken a turn for the worse and will not be with us much longer. It breaks my heart to think about, but I know she is going to a better place. She has had such a hard year and has fought so hard but her body just can't fight any more. Grandma is such an amazing woman and has given us all such a special family. She has brought so many traditions and wonderful memories to our family as we have grown up. They made sure we were all close as a family and have such a wonderful bond with the whole family because of her and Grandpa. She means more to me than I can ever express!! I am at a loss for words right now at how much I love her and will miss her.
My Grandpa will need lots of prayer as well. He does not do well without my Grandma and will have a very hard time with this. He has become very receptive to hearing the good news which is a blessing that the Lord has brought from this! He is not a believer and pray that through this time, he will come to know the Lord!

3 Weeks Old!

I can't believe we have had them for three weeks already! Time sure does fly, which is kinda scary! It's already going by so fast and we aren't even home yet. It's so fun to have them around we are so blessed to have them! They are doing great! Not a whole lot changes, just getting stronger everyday. They have started their bottle feedings and are doing good with that. Cameron and Madison are eating their whole feeding by bottle which is awesome. Blake is doing about half. He is so funny, he's so laid back he just does his own thing. He's getting there though. Madison is having some reflux after she eats so we just need to pray that gets better. Cameron is doing great, only a couple more days on his antibiotics. And we just need to get Blake eating more on his own and breathing a little better. But all in all, these are pretty little things for premies.

I could use some prayer. I have been fighting being sick a lot, which is so hard cause I need to be around to babies to help with feedings/nursing. I think I am on the upside of that now though. I woke up this morning with a 101 degree fever and the body aches so I thought I was getting sick again. Turns out I have mastitist (sp???) Probably most of you moms know about it, an infection of the breast. WAY PAINFULL!!! So that's where the fever and everything came from. So the good news is I am not sick again, the bad news is I have that infection. But at least that won't keep me from the babies. Yeah!
