Goodbye to Summer (yes 3 months late)

Our last campout of the summer over Labor Day. We had a wonderful time - other than Jasons truck breaking down and us being stranded on the way home! But since that didn't happen until the way home the weekend was great! We went hiking, lots of visiting, LOTS of good food made by Jason!
Brian and Sheila came with us which always makes it more fun! The usual group that comes all had different plans this year for the annual campout so it was our small group. The kiddos love camping which is great. They get so excited to go and just play hard the entire time we are there. They get FILTHY too and that adds to fun. They ask all winter when we are going camping again. I love to be out in the woods enjoing Gods amazing creation. What a wonderful thing for the kids to grow up doing - we will have many fun memories I thinnk!

Found a great spot this time - nothing better than the perfect camp spot!
Their favorite thing was sitting around the camp fire with us. I have to say, that's one of my favorites too!
We went on a hike - crazy idea! It was a HOT, steep, DUSTY DUSTY hike. It was at the end of a long drive though and we needed to get the kids energy out! They did great but got so dusty I didn't think we would ever get them clean.

The last day, Jason wanted to go fishing. He found a spot that was great and wanted us all to go. The path to get there started with crossing over a tree that was across a creek - but it was a drop off, through a couple swampy rainforest type terrain and jumping a couple very wide creeks. No biggie. 4 adults, 5 kids and 2 dogs that had to be packed over. Jason is fired for finding fishing holes! :) It was fun, the kids had a blast catching fish. So we forgave him!

August 8-18th

I have got to stop to stop doing this to myself. I get SO far behind it takes daaaays to catch up. Oh, well! Here we go...

Monday I spent helping my parents unpack some more. We are sooo excited to have them closer that I was more than happy to unpack everything! :) It's a long process because we are trying to go through everything and make sure we get rid of the clutter for their beautiful new place! It's coming along though. It's also slower because the kids are there and love to be "helpful!" :)

Tuesday we started out the day at Aunt Boo's house. She loves to have us come over and play and we love to go. We picked apricots, played pickle ball, had a good time on her new beach and ran away from the neighbor dog that just wanted some loves from the kids. Actually, Blake is getting very brave and petted the dog and even fed him a treat! After Aunt Boo's it was back to the parents to unpack and decorate.

Wedensday was finally a slooooow day at home. I tend to get a little too busy and all of us (especially the kids) need that time at home in our own little routine! We went to Wingers for dinner with Bianca and Silas on their way home from their belated honeymoon.

Thursday we played with Sheila and her kiddos. We sure do love them! :) We usally go for a long walk to get in our exercise, then we let the kids play and if all goes well we get to visit! That evening my good friend Heather had a bridal shower. It was a nice shower and a great time of fellowship!

Friday spent the day with Jason - love the 3 day weekends! Kristen called that afternoon and asked if I would come stay with her. She was having a hard time with Sage being gone and feeling lonely. So I headed over to spend the night with her. We always have a fun time talking and watching girly movies! So thankful for her friendship - hope my kids grow up to be as good as friends as we are!

Saturday I spent the morning cleaning for Kristen. She hurt her back and could barely walk, so I thought I could help out a little. Headed home to spend time with the family but instead I came down with the WORST case of the flu I have ever had. I told Jason I felt worse then when I was preggo and on mag. If you have ever had mag, you know that's BAD! Jason had even made me a delicious meal of smoke tri tip and potatoes. That guy is an amazing cook!

Sunday through Tuesday I spent in bed and in the bathroom. God was really protecting the rest of my family because no one else got it. Which is unheard of...Jason also followed me around with clorox wipes, wiping any surface I touched. He also yelled anytime I walked out of my room to the kids, "DON'T TOUCH MOM!!!" Haha...I felt so loved. Actually I did, he took AWESOME care of me.

Wednesday I started POTTY TRAINING! Ahhhh....Blake and Cam had been very interested. They had even started going once in a while, waking up dry at naptime ect. So it begins...We met Dad and Kristen for a quick lunch at The Salsa Grill. Yum! LOVE mexican food!

Thursday was Curts birthday so we a super yummy bbq that evening to celebrate with him! It was a fun family time and delicious food. Can't beat that!

Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday {Part 2}

We had a second little party with my family when we went to the cabin in McCall. My Dad won the cabin from the WAlk for Life again. It's a great tradition I hope we can win every year! We had a great time, lots of fun visiting, birthday celebrations, games, movies and of course, EATING!
We had a fiesta to celebrate Kristen, Dad, Me and the kids birthdays. It.Was.Delicious!! The kids LOVE Veggie Tales so I thought it would be fun to do a Veggie Tales party. I made these guys and I think they turned out pretty awesome! The kids were AMAZED - so was everyone else! :)
Saturday morning we went out to breakfast at the Pancake House - one of my favorites! Madison was acting a little clingy and not eating much but I didn't think too much about it. Jason went back to the cabin with the kids and I wandered around McCall with my parents. We had a lot of fun, looking at all the stores, thrift shops and the Farmers Market. When we got back M was doing very good and started running a pretty high fever. She had it the rest of the day and all night. Finally broke the next day. Poor baby, I felt so bad for her!
Saturday evening we opened their presents. It was fun to see them get into more than they ever have. They had asked for some specific things too and when they got them they were SO excited!
Cam had been DYING for a baseball glove. We decided they all needed one though, got the start of a good team on our hands!
Couldn't figure out how to eat these messy guys so they just dove right in!
We had to try out the new gloves! M still wasn't feeling good so she didn't want to play this time. They boys really are doing pretty good. I love that they love sports, it's pretty fun! Can't wait until they are big enough to play on a team! Well I guess I can.... :)
Daddy and his kiddos! They LOVE their Daddy!
And their Mommy! :)
We came home Sunday morning since the kids weren't feeling well. They boys started coming down with fevers too Sunday morning. Over all though, even with the sickies we had a great time! Sage was home for good, Kristen about ready to pop with Jonah, Jake came for the weekend and so did the newly weds! Great weekend with my family that I love to pieces!

Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday

HAPPY 3rd Birthday Cameron, Blake and Madison!
I can not believe our little tiny miracles are 3 years old!! Life with them is flying by WAAAAY too fast! Their birthday was pretty low key this year. I think they enjoyed it anyway though! :) Daddy was out of town for their birthday which was very sad (for him and the kids!) but I planned a special day for them anyway! We had a special breakfast at home, spent some time with Grammy and had lots of playing whatever they wanted at home.
That evening I took them to Wingers - the LOVE Wingers - and invited a few of their favorite people along! Grammy couldn't make it and we missed her! Aunt Boo brought balloons which made it feel even more like a party. Aunt Boo is pretty great! They each got to choose exactly what they wanted and got lemonade too.
After dinner Aunt Boo and Grandma Danny came with us to the park. The park is pretty much their favorite place on earth so I thought that would be the best way to end their special day. Grandma Danny brought presents to the park which was really the icing on the cake! :) They played until dark and would have continued playing if I would have let them!
All in all I think they had a pretty special day! We are sure blessed to have these kiddos in our life! They are growing into some pretty neat little people! I am excited to see how they grow what God has in store for us in the next year! But I hope it goes just a little bit slower!

Know what I love...

I love listening to my kids pray! They LOVE to pray, all three begging too at every meal and every other time we sit down to do it. They always thank God for each other and mommy and daddy and usually whoever else they saw that day. It's so sweet. I pray it continues throughout their life!

Earlier this week we were at Brogans house playing. Brogan had pointed the play gun at Cameron (both our families have a rule of no pointing guns at people.) So of course Cam freaked out (He's broken the same rule from time to time). Anyway, not that big of a deal but it really stuck with Cam. For the next couple days everytime he prayed he went through the same "Thank you for______" but then he would say "And thank you for Brogan pointing the gun at me, thank you that it was naughty cause it was naughty and...." SO funny! I don't think they quite understand what "thanks" mean...

So the next day we helped the kids build a little fort out of their little rocking chairs. We tipped them upside down with blankets and pillows covering them so the kids could hide under. Jason and I were having coffee and talking and we started to notice Cam having quite the conversation. We heard "Yea, I being good, gotta make the right choices. Brogan pointed the gun at me. I don't know, he just did and it was naughty. I tell him no and...." on and on it went. I finally asked who he was talking to. "I talking to Mater Mom!" He was laying under his chair, who has a picture of Mater on it. Oh this kid! He is something else!
