Deployment

Sage was deployed on Monday.
Wow - did you watch the news and the good-byes? Heart wrenching!
This time is going to be so hard for these two - but I am so proud of both of them and the sacrifice they are making! This kind of thing has never hit so close to home.
It's a first for us.

Do you truly appriciate the freedom we have in this country? I know I have always appriciated it, but have never quite realized the impact that it plays in some peoples lives!
Can you imagine not having your husband around for a year? To not have those hugs, support, visits, holidays? Do we really realize the sacrifice that some people are doing?
I am learning through Sage and Kristen. Please pray for them this year! It will be a long, hard year for both of them! But we are so proud of them!
Thanks guys for your sacrifice! We love you both so much!!

The Big 3-0

Not me. Not yet anyway. Kristen gets the party first! :) (Love ya!) Sage has had to be gone a lot preparing to leave, so he asked me if I would plan a surprise party for Kristen. It was SO fun - I got to spend Sage's money and plan a super fun party! I love shopping with other people's money! Haha...

We pulled it off wonderfully! We threw an old fashioned ice cream social. My mom found some wonderful glass dishes of all sizes for the toppings and goodies. There were a lot of sweets it was sugar overload but it was WONDERFUL!
There were a lot of sweet friends and family came to celebrate with us.
Oh, I am drooling right now...wish I had some more!

Kristen you are a sweatheart! I love you dearly! She is one of my dearest friends that I treasure so much! Throwing her this party was so fun and I am so glad I got to do it!

We had some very cute kiddos partying with us!

Aunt Jean, Grandma and Courtney

Grammy, Blake and Joshua
Jacob and Hilary
Isn't he just the best Granpda - good entertainment for all the kiddos.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTEN!
Love you so much!

Dad's kind of fun in the hotel room!
Mommie's little girl - she REALLY is a mommie's girl!!

Relaxing on a cold morning, in our new jammies, drinking milk. Does it get any better?

Sweet smile! And yes, he is in a pink car! The boys always fight over the pink car!

He looks like a little boy!!!! Such a sweetie!

LOVES the dirt! Showing of the shorts Grammy made her!

The BEACH PARTY!

And the running down the hill, face planting every two seconds, getting COVERED in dirt PARTY!

Which led to this...

And this.....
And this!
You should have seen the amount of dirt and sand in these poor kids diapers. WOW! We now have a beach at our house! Haha...

Where to Start???

I have not felt like blogging the past couple weeks. Besides not feeling like it - there has been NO time! In one of my posts a couple weeks ago I said i loved being busy. Stop here - open mouth - insert foot! :P Our last couple weeks have been insane! I have been in charge of a couple big things, had some hard, sad stuff happen in the family and Jason and I have been VERY involved in planning and carrying out re-doing the inside of our church. LOOKS awesome!! I will have to take some pictures to show! We have had birthday parties, family get togethers, good bye parties, birthday weekends and more! All packed into the last couple weeks. We had a family reunion and FIRE season! I hate fire season!

Sigh

Now I am tired! :) My birthday was a couple weeks ago. We had a wonderful celebrations just me and Jason for a whole 3 days! Heavenly! My parents are so great to be willing to take the kids for that long. I don't have to worry because I know they are wonderful hands! Jason and I spent the weekend eating at lots of yummy restaurants, seeing movies, shopping and just relaxing together at the hotel. We had a super nice room - the bell tower sweet - so fun! I didn't take one picture that weekend. Bad I know! Kristen and my parents had a party for me at her house with YUMMY enchiladas and DQ ice cream cake. Aunt Boo threw a party for the Aug/Sep birthdays on the McKinney side of the family at her wonderful beach she had made at her house. Aunt Boo is amazing - everyone should have an Aunt Boo. I am beyond blessed by her! Such fun! Love those birthdays.

We did family pictures yesterday with the McKinney clan and then our own personal family. I am SOSO excited - I think they are going to be super cute!

Grace's wedding is fast approaching, plans for her shower are in the works. Very excited for that.

I think that is the quick shortened version of life right now. They kids are getting so big and cute. I don't know what to think, they seem to grow leaps and bounds daily. Trying to savor this time - I can tell it won't last long!

LOVE the view..

...out our front door!

Things to remember

Madison is going to be too much like her momma. She hates to be dirty. She gets mad at that boys if they don't clean up the toys right, or put the toys in the wrong basket. And tonight there was a very strong hay smell rolling in all the sudden and she started freaking out! She just kept crying and whining and says "no, no, no, no" (which is nose) and sticking her finger in her nose. She REALLY didn't like the smell. She would not stop until I took her inside. So cute!
Cameron is in LOVE with cowboy boots right now. He is forever asking for his boots. He loves them. He wears them with the funniest outfits and looks pretty goofy. I love how kids decide they love things and just run with it. He also has a new love for limes. I think he had this one in his mouth for at least 2 hours. Would have had it in longer if Dad didn't throw it away!Blake has started a nightly ritual of kissing Madison and Cameron good night. It. IS. Adorable!!! He gives me and Jason our hugs and kisses and then runs to Madison, grab her face or shoulders with both hands, opens his mouth wide, tilts his head to the side and gives her a big, lingering kiss. ADORABLE. Then he runs to Cam and does the same thing. I love it.

Stuff

We are sure trying to pack in our weeks these days! :) I like it that way, Jason...not so much! He's stay at home, don't be too busy, just chill by ourselves kind of guy. I am a do everything, be apart of everything, go go go, have lot of fun, see lots of people, see lots of places kind of gal. Get's interesting around here sometimes! :)
Last weekend we had a lot of fun. We went to Boise for a snoring appointment for Jason (not the fun part) My mom and dad watched the kids, we didn't make a whole lot of progess in the snoring department but have a few ideas to try. PRAYING they work, I am tired of having separate bedrooms or if it's the same room NO sleep for either of us. Sad! :( After that we all went out to eat with Mom, Dad and Jacob at Goodwood BBQ, one of my FAVORITE places! Jason and I did some shoe shopping after that while my parents put the kids down to nap. We just enjoyed driving and walking around together and some alone time! We picked up the kids and took them to Cabelas, where Jason had some $$$ burning a hole in his pocket! We also walked around and showed the kids all the cool animal displays they have there. IT WAS SO CUTE! (I can't wait to take them to the zoo!!) They LOVED the animals and were so excited to see them, they were talking and laughing non-stop. SO CUTE! And they were VERY well behaved! I was proud of them. They stayed with us, held hands and obeyed! Went home and had a quiet evening. Saturday lots of work and chores to catch up on. Then off to Boise again for a goodbye party for Sage. We are so sad he is leaving, be praying for him and Kristen!! Sunday we had a great church service, got taco bell (YUM and not healthy! :) with their delicious limeades. I am addicted to limeade right now! Jason let me rest most of the afternoon as I was feeling very yucky. Short lived bug thankfully!
Tuesday was one of the funnest days this summer I think. We went jet skiing with my family. Jason had to work which was a bummer!!! But I took the kids and headed out to Black Canyon. It was a BLAST! We got to tube behind the jet ski, SO fun! :) We played in the sand, in the water, ate yummy food and lots of good family time! The kids did great there also. They obeyed well and were really having fun. Madison HATES the water. At least that water. She was so scared and would not go in all day. Cam was happy if you were really distracting him and playing with him in the water. Blake LOVED it. He was walking and splashing and having a grand old time. He walked all the way up to his chest, very brave! We also got the kids to take a nap there which I couldn't believe but allowed us to stay and play all day. We had blankets and layed them down (Grandpa napped with them to help out! :) ) and they slept for an hour. Such a fun day! Loved that time with my family! (Pics to come)
Today was an eventful day for me! Went walking with Sheila and Jamie and was attacked by a bee! Ok, a little exageration but I was walking along minding my own buisness when I bee flew into my eye lid and stung me. How random! MAN it hurt! I reflexivly started FREAKING out - forgot to notice where my kids were. Thankfully they were right in front of me wondering what Mommy was doing. So crazy! The other girls were wondering about me too, but it hurt so bad and was surprising. You don't think about being stung in the eye while walking! The rest of the morning was pretty good but after nap times the kids were being really naughty. REALLY giving me a hard time. So I decided to walk out to the mail box and when I tried to open the door it was locked!!! My kids somehow figured out how to lock the door and I had no way in. I also did not have my phone with me. I was about to freak out when I happened (when GOD reminded me!)to remember that I saw a window in the back open that morning. I usually shut everything up at nap time (cause I am still working on my worrying issues) since I take a nap too but forgot to shut the window Jason left open. Thank the Lord I did or I don't know what I would have done! Climbed in the small window without breaking anything so that was a good thing I guess. Crazy! Had Sage and Kristen over for dinner for one last hurrah before Sage leaves. Had a nice night with them and lots of YUMMY food! I think someone slipped the kids something cause they were sooooo hyper and happy.
This weekend, mini family reunion and birthday parties. FUN FUN!
